If you have direct access, you will go through their database of surveys where you will choose on what survey to take. If you are in the 2nd kind you will just wait for their email, because the “mediator” will be the one to distribute the survey opportunity.
The next best thing to do or to understand is that not all paid survey offers cash as compensation or incentives. There are some survey sites that offer a different kind of compensation like vouchers, coupons, free product or services etc. So you have to understand that there are times that the survey will not compensate you with money. You better read more about the company or survey site offerings so that you will not be disappointed. Another basic thing that you have to understand in paid survey is the process of getting paid and who is paying you after you did the survey. If you are part of the survey site that acts as a “middle-man”, you will be paid by that site and if you are in direct access it will be the research company obligation to pay you. There are also two types of payment method, one is through check or sometimes they do bank transfer or PayPal or just previously a debit card. Lastly, understand that there is nothing wrong from being cautious in giving out your personal details, because there are still some fraudulent survey sites.
